I didn't realise just how out of shape I was. Saying that I've never done weight training before and I've lost 4lb already :) How great is that! Think it is down to simply cutting out sugar altogether, chocolate, drinking water instead of tea all day and eating small &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;regular&lt;/span&gt; meals. My stomach feels so much better, not bloated and uncomfortable all the time. I can't wait to see what results I get from the full 49 days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yesterday was my "cheat day" and I loved it. Tom &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Venuto&lt;/span&gt; strongly points out the importance of having a cheat once a week. Although it's not a full day but a cheat meal so I got together with a friend for a bite to eat and a couple of glasses of wine. Question is did I wake up thinking "this isn't so bad", &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;truthly&lt;/span&gt;, NO i didn't. This is simply because I haven't had an issue with the food from day 1. I am eating food that I like such as salmon, chicken, eggs, steak, salad, veg, nut and even bread. Only difference is I'm eating small portions every 3 hours, so I'm actually eating more than before but healthier. I did get fed up of eating eggs in a morning though, so I'm having cereal this morning instead. That's the great thing about this plan, if you get bored you simply choose something else. Not many &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;diets&lt;/span&gt; with that option from my experience.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I got to the gym yesterday, even with the &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;awful&lt;/span&gt; weather, which I wasn't happy about. Only &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;worked out&lt;/span&gt; for 40 &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;mins&lt;/span&gt; though, need to get used to exercising again before I do too much; it's been a long time. Today the lady is putting me a weight training schedule together. Not something I have ever considered before but the program claims it helps burn fat, even while you sleep. Breakfast this morning was 4 egg whites and a slice of whole wheat bread. I don't mind eggs, however I'll be glad when my stomach gets used to eating in a morning. Saying that my energy levels are &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;a lot&lt;/span&gt; better, so it can't be so bad. Unfortunately I have had to cut right back on my tea which doesn't make me feel to happy but it has reduced my stomach bloating so it's catch 22 :) If I want to shape up then I have to get rid of my bad habits and put the effort in.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm off to the gym at 11 for my daily workout and I'm feeling a bit anxious in all honesty. I'm not the most active of people but it's in my best interest, if I really want to look and feel like the old me. I say this because the food portions look so small but in actual fact I am eating more than normal. It's more of a mind thing, here's why.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Before I used to wake at 8.30, my breakfast consist of two to three cups of tea alongside two - three cigs whilst I checked my emails and come round properly. That's just the way things were and I couldn't imagine them any other way. I wouldn't eat dinner, just a massive tea around 6pm, by this time I was starving. I would eat so much at this point that my stomach would bloat and leave me feeling very uncomfortable :(&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Today I had to get up at 5.30 ready for breakfast at 6am. I wasn't happy about getting up so early but I actually felt better for it. For breakfast I had 4 egg whites,1 yolk and a slice of whole wheat bread (dry) which took some getting used to. I do like eggs, it's the idea of eating first thing I dislike, always felt a little sick in the past If I ate so early but I was obviously eating the wrong foods because there was no sickness or stomach bloating (a problem I have a lot). &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Breakfast is the biggest meal you consume on this plan If you really want to speed things up. You have to spread your calories out over the duration of the day between 6 meals eaten every three hours, reducing them as the day goes on and this is where things get weird and the portions get smaller, however, when I stopped to think about it just now I have already eaten more in a morning than I have done is years, lol, well ok maybe not but definately more than I would have done in a full day. What's freaking me out is the tiny portion of my tea (200 cals) because I'm used to shoveling a massive amount down leaving me sluggish and bloated. Like Tom says in his book " by day 3 you will wake up and think it's not so bad".&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;I suppose it's all about changing habits at this early stage such as when I eat, how much I eat and the quality of foods I eat. Don't think I'm going to be very happy over the next 2 - 3 days but If it means I will look and feel better with more energy and no more of this horrible bloating "I just don't care".&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;As It's my first day I have posted a photo of me to the top right above. We will then compare on day 10 and again on day 20 because Tom claims that by day 10 you will be able to see some changes and by day 20 people won't recognise you! In fact this book isn't really about weight loss at all. It's more about fat burning and gaining muscle. Most of the other lousy weight loss programs out there are just fad diets, OK they may help you lose weight in the short term but because you are losing mainly water retention and muscle you soon put the weight back on, if not more and this is where Tom &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;&lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error"&gt;Venuto's&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; system is totally different.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can see why it has been a best seller since 2003 without a doubt. I must say though that I found it very hard to take in all the information at first, which scared me off to a certain degree but I'm glad I stuck with it, it really does cover everything you need to know, giving you the knowledge to really get stuck in, take action and reach your goals.
